2003 4runner limited trim removal...

Hi guys,
This is my first post here. I recently bought a 2003 4runner limited with the jbl synthesis system in it. Unfortunately the only thing wrong with it is that the cd player is broken. I prefer aftermarket head units any way and have ordered the harness and aftermarket dash kit for it.

My question is what is the best way to remove the trim to get at the factory stereo. I thought I'd ask before I even attempt it because everything is plastic and probably breaks quite easily....

It's relatively straightforward but fairly time consuming -- you have to dismantle far more than you'd think. Instructions at the link below.

Yeah, it's a several hour process... Just don't scratch anything.

Definitely be careful so you don't break tabs, or scratch anything. It is time consuming the first couple times you may do it, but I've done it so many times now for this or that, I can get it torn apart to get to my radio in about 5-10 minutes. Pretty easy.

Yeah I agree, takes 10-30 mins with taking your time. This isnt open heart surgery guys lol.
