2003 4Runner Value w\high mileage

I've been thinking about selling\trading my 03 Sport (V8) for some thing larger for the family. It's in relatively good condition with a few nicks & scrapes on the tupperware & almost 154K on the odometer. Just looking for a consensus on a fair private party or trade-in selling price aside from kbb.com.

IDK if this will help or not, but maybe it will. I just purchased my 03 Limited 4x4 that's completely loaded for $11,500. It's got a few scratches and other bleminshes, but from 5 feet away looks near mint. It's got 124k miles. As a buyer, I felt I got an absolute steal at that price. I'm not sure what a dealer would offer on trade in, but if you find the right buyer for a private party sale you could come out much better I imagine.

I would say $10K-10,5 probably should be your asking range. Now if you go to the dealer to trade in, you're probably looking at a realistic number of around $6-7,000.

Check Edmunds as well as KBB. Edmunds is usually high and KBB is usually low, so an average of the two is reasonable. Also, check what those sites tell you for "dealer retail" against some real listings in your area. Carmax is another good reference for prices, although they're usually a tad higher than what a buyer could negotiate at a dealer.

Carmax may be a tad higher on their resale end of things, however you do get what you pay for on that end. I know, I just spent two months looking for a decent used vehicle for my wife and ended up just buying from Carmax since most everything out there at regular dealers were junk.

However, they'll also give you a somewhat low figure on average, not always, for your used trade in or outright sell.

Last December I paid $11k for an 03 4Runner Limited in same condition as yours (pretty good) with 140k miles on it. So I would say that price range is good. You might get even more if you hold out but who knows.
