2003 4Runner - VSC off and TRAC off ONLY WHEN COLD!

Hello fellas,
I have the problem where the lights come on ONLY WHEN YOU START IT COLD in the morning and they GO OFF when you turn the vehicle off and back on - everything is fine after that. IT ONLY HAPPENS WHEN VEHICLE IS COLD(winter time).
I wouldn't think that would have something to do with the "Zero point calibration" but maybe a loose/malfunctioning sensor that starts working when the vehicle warms up.

I know other people had this problem but did anyone find a resolution on that? I don't think the "Zero point calibration" has anything to do with it because it only appears when its really cold out.

Last night I unplugged the connector for VSC and TRAC under the hood and sprayed some contact spray but no go this morning. Lights were on when cold started turned off after 15 min, back on - everything is fine. Any ideas ?

I am having this same exact issue with my 2003 Sport.

Replace the battery. The code are being cause by low voltage. Voltage is low after a cold night. This is a sign that your battery is starting to go bad and not hold charge after a cold night. Id bet if you left it sit for a few days without driving it the battery would completely die and wouldnt start at all.

I have had my 4runner for 3 years in March. Each winter it does this. I get the lights when I start it up when it's cold outside. Temps around 30 degrees or below. Once the car warms up, I can turn the key off, restart the engine and the lights are now off. Since I have the same battery as when I bought the vehicle, I don't think this is battery related, or my battery would have failed by now. I am now in my 3rd winter with this behavior.

Now that its cold again, I am having the same issue. Has anyone been able to solve the cold weather VSC TRAC light issue?

It's all about voltage. The voltage of the battery drops but it doesn't lose enough amperage to not start or slow start. The Trac computer detects low voltage overnight and trips the light without any adverse effects to how it runs. It's a pointless bit of programming but there is no fix except a heated garage.
