2003 Compared to 2014 4Runner

I have owned my 2003 4runner for 10 years and it's an amazing vehicle. I have 145,000 miles and have had no issues. Other than price and mileage, how do the 2003's compare to the new 2014 models?

I also had a 2003, which I owned for over 6 years, and I just got a 2014 Limited. To me, they are totally different vehicles. The 2003 v6 sr5 was fairly nimble, uncomplicated, and had nice road manners. The 2014 just drives bigger, kind of like the 4th gen V8.

No roof rattle in the 2014.

2004 v8 Sport :

stupid star hvac controls
v8 with more torque
throttle response better
shift point mapping better


2014 LE v6 :

less torque
slightly better mpg
better ride
stupid window controls
must really get into the gas pedal to move it

creature comforts are worlds better (I lean more this way now then back then)
