Nice shots of a nice truck!

How popular is the 4Runner? Did you special import the vehicle or is it available from dealers? I thought it was rare and you mainly had Land Cruisers and Prados .

thanks!
yes, I had to special import my truck because it's not available from dealers. From dealers we can only get Land Cruisers and Prados... Both of them are the most valuable targets for car theives (after Lexus RX300 and GX470).
4th gen 4Runners are pretty rare - actually I've only seen only a few in the city (population of approx. 6 mln with 1,5 mln cars). Well that is probably because it's not profitable to import cars which not older than 3 years (due to the russian customs law). The toll for import cars 3-7 years old is 2,5 euro for every cubic centimetere of the engine volume.. You do the math. My toll was about 12 000$ and my truck's price in total was as if a I was buying a new truck in the USA as a US resident.
I know this is crazy, but this is how our government wants to "support" our local car makers - by making people pay more for import cars. For example a 2006 4Runner toll would be something like the price of 2003 4Runner, because toll for new import cars is 5 euro... I'm sure next year we'll have plenty of 3-4 y.o. 4Runners here. By the way, we have a lot of 2nd and 3d gen 4Runners as well as Hilux Surfs =)
Russian cars and trucks are actually useless insecure pieces of lousy metal. I know it doesn't sound patriotic, but it's the sad truth =(
So I preferred quality and comfort and chose a 4Runner =)

russian cars, believe it or not are pretty much worse then the Pinto was. its sad but real. my parents used to complain about how much they sucked.

Great truck and i must admit, those pictures deserve T4ROTM

On a side note:

My understanding is that the Pinto is the cause of the sue crazy system we now live in. Because Ford had figured that it was cheaper to pay lawsuits than it was to pay for the recall, the Supreme Court removed the cap on pain and suffering.

I think russian cars are the worst... ever. I'm sure russian cars drivers would love to own a Pinto instead of these wheeled metal boxes :D

I'm not sure about that my pictures deserve T4ROTM, but thank you anyway ;)

Awesome pix

Welcome to the forum.

I agree with Koz, looking at the pictures makes me feel cold. How cold does it get around St. Petersburg?
Does you engine run on Gasoline or Diesel?
What are gas prices like where you live?

Sorry about all the questions, but I think I can speak for many here that we are excited to have a member from Russia.

Cheers!

Welcome to the forum.

I love the scenery in those pics. I'm from Florida, so I feel deprived this time of year when other people are bundled up, and I'm still in shorts/tshirts/flip flops.

Like I said above now it's 32F, but during the winter it can reach -22F... Last winter it was -36F and it was a disaster, russian cars couldn't even start up :D But you know, Russia is huuuge so in some areas we can have -58F as an average during winter time and in some areas it stays around 32F.

I thought diesel T4R were available only for emergency and military services ;): My runs on Gasoline

Gas price for (octane number) 95 is about 0,72$-1$ (for 1 litre) depending on the gasoline company

It's ok with the questions and thanks for the excitement :)

Clockwise, you know :D ;): It makes me wanna go somewhere hot, when I think that winter in Russia starting in early November is going to last until April :runaway:

Oh, by the way, I love your Supra. I'm a big Celica and Supra fan myself and I hope someday I'll have a nice JZA80 Supra with 2JZ-GTE engine  This summer we had a drag contest with 800-1000hp Supras, Nissan Skylines and Toyota Soarers/MR2. If you're intersted in seeing some photos and specs just let me know ;):

Thanks! I've loved Supras forever, I was pumped to get mine earlier this year. I'm always interested in 800+whp cars, especially those with 2JZ blocks.

FYI, my Supra is for sale.....
:D
