2003 Sport Hood!!

Just test mounted my sport hood! It came primed in black and now that I've seen it in black... I kinda like it... So the question is: paint it silver or black??

What does everyone think? Keep in mind I still need to put the grill back in.

Yes it definitely will be black. I have my satoshi grill I built that I will be using

I like it black. Nice contrast. Especially with the lower parts painted as well. What paint did you use on the lower parts? The bumper looks matte black. Undercoat?

I got them from CARiD. They are Spec-D lights and they are pretty good for the price.

Thanks. I worked with a local collision shop and he helped me find a couple hoods. The first one was to damaged to repair. The second one sold before I could get it and the third one came in as a limited hood with a stick on scoop :redbrick:
So I ended up getting it directly from the Toyota dealer along with all the other scoop components. They were kind enough to price match what I would have paid for a cheaper knock off aftermarket hood. So I got a decent deal and it was definitely worth it now that I have it!

I like the look from the pictures as said the contrast is nice. My only worry would be looking like some idiot who wrecked and was too lazy to get their replacement parts painted. I can't tell from the pictures if it's clear coated or not but if you hit that with some clear coat, the black would look sick and add a finished look to it IMHO.

I thought about that to. But I feel that I have enough other blacked out features on my truck that it should look more like black accents instead of laziness. I plan to dip the mirrors and roof rack plus I have black CBI bumpers on the way. So hopefully by the time everything is added, it will look like a nice color scheme. We'll just have to see as time goes on....

I wouldn't worry. That sounds like it'll look sick. I'm hopefully going to be ordering a CBI with an insurance check next week. You'll have to tell me how you like yours.

^^^ What he said. It will give it a nice contrast. I like the hood, grill, and middle bumper all being black. Looks pretty sweet! Now black out your emblems with some plastidip to tie it all in together. If you still like it in the future paint your rear hatch black and roof black too. :tea:
