hello, i have an 03 toyota 4runner sport V8 4WD and i am looking to upgrade some different things. First thing i will replace is the exhaust. I was thinking of doing a magnaflow catback system. My friend has this exhaust and i like how it sounds. Let me know if this is a bad choice. Next is wheels/tires. I want to go to a black off-road wheel with terra graplers or something along those lines. I wanted to go 20's but i wasnt sure if I could go with them without a lift. If not i will go with 18's. I just do not want to do a lift. So my question is do i need a lift to go with the 20's and terra graplers? or Should i just stick with 18's?

In general provided the OD of the tire doesn't exceed 32" plus or minus a couple of tenths you're fine. In the realm of 17's people go to a 265/70/17 and a little taller in the 255/75/17 and those are 32's.

If you offroad at all, lift, mod etc then 33's are about it. Much over that you'll want gears and have to do different UCA's (upper control arm) etc.

18's offer a taller sidewall which for off-roading is better...

Just my 2cents.

Ok, so i have seen a few different things i might do. I was thinking of doing horizontal and vertical spacers. I'm not sure exactly the sizes i would want. Overall i want my 4runner to stand higher. But i also want a wider stance. does anyone recommend a certain brand or anything like that?

Spacers

There are ridiculous numbers of posts on these topics. Probably a good idea to look through them and see for yourself which option you want.

For wheel, or "Horizontal" spacers, Spidertrax seems to be the most common.

For the lift, or "vertical" spacers, you have plenty of options, such as Cornfed, Revtek, or Daystar.

Many different suppliers carry these, a quick Google search will bring up plenty of answers.
