2003 Sport V8 STARTING PROBLEM

I'm new to this forum because I wanted to share some info. I haven't seen on
any site yet, despite looking for days. This has to do with intermittent start/no-
start episodes. It goes like this: you turn the ignition key to start and nothing
happens. I mean nothing. No clicking relays, no solenoid click, no sound period.
I will save you from a long boring story of how I found the problem, but here it
is: A FREAKIN FUSE. The fuse culprit is the EFI 20A one to the left of the EFI
relay, the fifth one in the row on the left side of the fuse/relay box under the
hood. As it turns out, the starter circuits will not function if this fuse is blown,
is out, or is not making contact. In my case the fuse prongs were formed wrong
when the fuse was made. The contacts in the fuse box are not the same on both
sides. The left contact is very narrow and grips the fuse prong near the
edge. The right contact is much wider and grips the prong on most of the flat
surface. The bad fuse had the prongs too close together, thus barely touching
the left contact. This fuse was original and took almost ten years to cause a
problem. If you have starter/starting problems, look very closely at this fuse
and associated relay. Several people said I needed a solenoid or starter. This
was fixed with a twenty-five cent fuse.

Same issue I'm having!

I've had my 03 T4R V8 Limited since new and for the past few months I'm having the exact same intermittent starter issues. I replaced the battery last Dec and have inspected the cables and looked at the fuses. I'm even more convinced after reading this post that it has to do with a fuse or relay and not the starter itself. O'reilly's suggested replacing the starter but I think it's unnecessary. I've had other relay issues...twice with my A/C in the past two years and both were fixed inexpensively with new relays. I wonder what's the deal with these relays!?!
