Ive got a 2003 t4r sport with 3/2 cornfed and 285/70r/17 bfg ko's. I want to toss the cornfed. Couple questions.

1. Witch OME set up should i get. (Light-med offroading) but may add winch and brush guard later. Part #'s

2. Will it give me the same ammount of lift as Cornfed 3/2. Do u use a top-out spacer with OME springs.

3. Do u think i could sell my X-REAS and cornfed 3/2 on T4R.org quickly.

4. Who will give me the best deal on OME.

When do you plan on adding a bumper and winch. You will want the medium front springs (885), without the bumper & winch. The heavy duty (886) with the winch & bumper. Buy the whole system, and use the 885 front springs, then, when you order your bumper & winch, also order the 886 springs. The springs are only about $70.

If you use the heavy springs (886), without the extra weight, your rig will have a very rough ride.

These springs do provide a 3/2 lift. Sometimes a little more.

Winch and bumper will be way down the road, just thought i would go ahead and plan for it but do NOT want a rough ride.
So i should go ahead and get the MED Springs (885), what about the rear MED springs also. (Anything i tow will be mostly light.) Who should i get kit from.

Does a med kit come with everything i need. Ive noticed top out spcers on OME web site for extra lift. Do all kits come with them or is it just an option. Will my Cornfed top out spacers work.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR REPLIES. I like answers from someone with personal experience. OH, what about shocks.
If you suggest Med coils, what complete kit is best for me.

THANKS AGAIN

Photo3G, I just talked to jonnie at wheelers off road. He recomended 885 front and 895 rear. He also said 895 rear will give me 3" of lift, wich other rear springs are 2.5". and for shocks i belive he said 141 and 140. What do you think.

$803.00

THANKS

That seems like a good price, and the right parts. I didn't use any of the spacers. Not necessary. You may need a trim packer, to level the vehicle, after a few months, and everything is seated properly.

Initially, the lift will be a bitt more than you expect. As the springs settle into their resting positions, it will come down about 1/2".

That Is Correct Info...I have the OME Heavies, But On the front I use an ARB bumper And Warn 9000 Winch which make the ride Perfect ..Better than Stock, I have Heavies in rear and it is a bit Tight Until I load 100-150 lbs of gear then it awesome ..Later this month I am Installing the CBI rear bumper (225lbs)which was why I went with the stiff set up . So if you are NOT getting a bumper/ winch until later use the mediums and then get the stiff when you ACTUally have the winch bumper.
Just my 2 cents :p

Thanks for the info Guys. Now ive got to get my Wife on board. Its hard for her to understand why i want to toss the Cornfed for OME. THANKS AGAIN

The Cornfed spacers are an inexpensive way to see if you will like the lift, fit the tires you want and trim up the plastic. Also to see if it becomes too difficult to ingress/egress. A stater-lift.

After some time, and you learn how you want to use your vehicle, then you are better informed and educated to purchase the proper lift, for the long term. For some folks, the Cornfed may be all they ever need.

Your OME system will last the life of your vehicle, or until you add more weight and need stiffer springs. The shocks are tough, but they will need replaced eventually, depending on your travels.

Another upgrade you might consider, are the stainless steel brake lines. At least in the rear; as the the extra suspension travel can exceed your factory brake-line length. If you don't want to do that right-away, you can move the upper brake-line mount, down and inch, to keep from stretching or tearing the brake lines.

Edit: This is not a requirement with the 141(soft) or 142(firm) shocks. It would be required if you went to the longer N71E (firm) shocks.

A side benefit to the SS brake lines is better braking power. None of your peddle pressure is absorbed in the rubber lines. This is noticable when braking hard, prior to ABS kicking in. I purchased mine from Slee Offroad.

Also, don't overlook the toytec RCC 2.0 rear coils. They ride very nice for basically stock weight (no bumpers, winch, etc) and I tow a boat with them with no sag at all. I run a 1"spacer on top of the springs, along with OME-60020 shocks, Sonoran steel panhard bar, beefy links, etc. and absolutely love the ride (esp. offroad) and the flex. I started with the OME 895s and ended up much happier with the toytecs. Good luck!
