he wiring diagram i got here is wrong, it says 99-03 but it should be 99-02. the 04 wiring diagram is correct.

but, here is my problem, it says:
Power Lock blue - driver kick, 18 pin plug
Notes: Meter the wire while turning the key in the driver door key cylinder.
Power Unlock green (double pulse) - driver kick, 18 pin plug

it doesn't say (-) or (+)
the only 18pin connector I found didn't have a green or blue. and couldn't get a good reading on the pins that were green with a stripe and blue with a stripe.

has anyone done an alarm on a 2003-2004 runner? plz. thanks in advance folks.

Yes, I added the plus secruity alarm to my '04 Runner. It was pretty straightforward! All I had to do was tap into some wires beneath the passenger seat and install the glass breakage microphone. The door lock mechanisms works through the ECM.

I believe you have the wrong generation of security alarm package. Do a search for the Toyota RSS security plus alarm for the 4th generation Runner. You can purchase one of these from the $100-$175 range. Good Luck!! It's a rather easy mode to do in your front yard, driveway or garage.

my mistake, this is an aftermarket alarm/remote start/keyless entry.

Ok, I included a picture to help you try to find the two wires that are for your truck.

The green wire and blue wire both use a negative trigger.

If the 04 instructions are correct that's the picture and wiring

If the truck was built in 02, the power locks are different colors!
See if you got those wires
Power Lock brown/white - plug below fuse box
Power Unlock grn/yel & blu/yel - plug below fuse box

Let me know if you got any more questions... I've done the 02 before.

Here's another tid-bit of info...

If you have the OEM alarm already and are adding an aftermarket alarm, you can find many of the wires you need at the OEM alarm brain instead of running wires all over under the dash to the "suggested" connection points. That is all they are - suggested connection points.
