I have a 2004 4runner 2WD, 45,000 mi. I just noticed a tapping noise (sounds like metal on metal) coming from the front end when driving slow, the frequency of the noise inscreases with speed and the noise disappears when any brake is applied. I can only hear it with the windows down and at low speeds, everything else seems to operate normally. Any ideas or prior experience would be greatly appreciated! Cheers.
