2004 4Runner questions

Hi Guys, ex 2002 SE 4Runner owner current Landcruiser owner thinking about getting another 4Runner for wife and second car. I looked at a V8 04 SE AWD 4Runner today with 16k miles. I think it had the X? suspension. It had hoses running from the shocks. Does that sound right? Its white, has DAC button but no sunroof . They want 28k but you know how that goes. It wasnt perfect inside. Not bad but a few scratches and scrapes on the interior plastic. What do you guys think? What should I look for? Any problems? It has a "brush guard" on it which just is a crappy piece of plastic. What should I offer. Im in Long Beach, CA.

You're right. It has X-REAS suspension, standard on all Sport Edition 4Runners, optional on Limited models.

I'd look for a 2005 4Runner. They did some minor changes on the engine and gave it 35 extra hp.

The above is true for the V8. The V8 has VVTI that increased torque and HP.

The V6 also got an improvement. 2003-2004 models came with the 4 Speed Auto. In 2005, the V6 has the same 5 Speed Auto as the V8.

DAC is standard on all 4WD models.

I picked up my fully loaded ($44k MSRP) 4Runner for $31k over a year ago... I am sure you can get a better price then $28k.
