2004 front skid plate

We have two 2004 4runners. One limited and one sr5. The sr5 has a front skid plate (the cover that is under the radiator and the front of the engine. There is a second larger cover further back). with a mesh air flow cutout. The limited didn’t have the front skid plate when we bought it bi checked out a few at wrecking yards yesterday. All of them were solid without the mesh air low cutout. Any advantages one over the other. Anybody have experience with these front skid plates. Thanks. Phil.

The mesh cutout is to help cool the front diff, the 2WD skid plate doesn't have this. But either skid will bolt up fine
