2004 limited, which key fob?

I just got an 04 4runner limited. Great truck!

Do I need the HYQ12BBX or HYQ12BAN keyfob? Unfortunately, it only came with the key.

Also, is the keyless fob tied to the alarm on the Limited? I managed to set it off already, so there seems to be one on there.

Can't say anything for certain beyond the fact that my '08 Limited came with an HYQ12BBX fob.

My Canadian '04 SR5 = HYQ12BAN so maybe the Ltd. has the BBX?

My 03 SE is the ....BAN one

I have a 2004 Limited, the key fob reads "HYO12BAN" (hard to tell if the O is a Q, though)

For what it is worth, My 06 Sport came with : HYQ12BBX

Thanks for the replies...I got a BBX remote and it worked.

I used these directions, kept turning the ignition to ACC instead of ON or it would've worked on the 1st try:

PS...I found a Toyota document that says the BAN is the remote for the 03 4Runner, and the BBX is 04+? Well lots of people have the BAN fob for the 04, so can one guess that 04 works with both fobs?
