2004 V6 Oil Change Question

Hi all, I'm new here. Got a 2004 V6 4runner that need a first oil change.
I look under the skid plate and do notice a opening for the oil drain plug. Is this normal or is there a cover for the opening?
Do I need to remove all the skid plate like the old 4runner?
Oil filter is on top and can be easily removed.
How much oil is need?
Thanks.

Hi Shintaro29,
I'm a new member too, and also a new 2004 4Runner SR5 V6 owner (2+ months). After reading your message I took a look under my truck and discovered a snap out cover in the middle of the skid plate under the oil pan. It looks to be a panel that is about 4 inches x 8 inches and has a slot that I would suppose to use a screwdriver in to pop it out. I have about 1500 miles on mine and was originally going to change the oil at about the 2000 mile mark, but after reading the numerous posts on this forum discussing frequency of oil changes I've decided to wait until the 5000 mile point. It takes 5.5 qts with the filter change (Pg. 391 of the owners manual). The filter is in a very convenient spot (much better than my 88 4Runner SR5 V6). Been very happy with it so far.
