2004 V8 4Runner Oil filter

Hi,

This is the first time I'm changing my 2004 oil and filter myself. I've got two questions. First, where is the filter? Second, I see two possible drain plugs. One is more towards the front of the vehicle and one is further back, both are accessible through openings in the skid plate. I am assuming that the one that is further fowrward is the oil drain and the one further back is the transmission drain. Is that correct.
Oh, one more, can I do this with the vehicle up on ramps or does it have to be level?

Thanks,

george

The one forward is the oil drain. The filter is above the very front skid plate. Its better if its level, more will drain out. You should have room without the ramps to do everything.

Thanks, all done. What a PITA. Some clown during one of the previous changes snapped off two of the bolts that hold the pan on. At least it was a front and a back so that neither is completey unsupported. At some point I'll have to extract the bolt remnants and relace them.
