2004 v8 limited 4runner pricing

hey guys.. newbi here. im in the market to purchase a 2004 v8 limited 4runner with NAV. im wondering what is the lowest price you guys have purchased for? any input would be apprciated. im sure location may have some affect on the pricing too. im located in Fremont, CA. so if you purchased one like this recently.. i'd appreciate some input. so far the best price i found before tax and reg is $38,964. is that a good price?

I got everything you listed on a SE for $33K less tax and registration. (less the leather and the Nav)

WOW, $6K is a lot to pay for leather and a Nav system. I would say if you are looking at spending close to $40K you should look at buying a used 2002 Lexus LX470 with around 30K miles. You will then have the NAV, beautiful Leather, wood, great stereo, you get the picture. Plus the Lexus comes with a 6 year 70K mile warranty, so your warranty coverage won't be that different.

Call Tempe Toyota: ask for Sherman Weekes. Tell him Andy Wheaton sent you. He'll give you roughly $600 below invoice and will show you all the pricing (MSRP, Invoice, price he'll sell it for). No BS, straight forward. Myself and family have bought 6 cars through him over the last couple of years.

I would disagree on buying a used LX470. Not that there is anything wrong with it, but the don't "drive" anywhere near the T4R. I like the feeling of driving a smaller, more nimble vehicle. to each his own though!

You might also want to check out www.edmunds.com, they can give you the list price with all the options. They also list the average selling price in your zip code for a RUnner with the options you select. Given that that is the average list price you should be able to beat that easily. They also offer a dealer qoute service, I didn't use it and probably should have.

I think you should be able to come in at $37500 or $38K, maybe better.

I bought my Limited in Nov 2002 so the dealers weren't as willing to negotiate as they are now, as it was still a new model then.

The current CarsDirect.com price is $38,002. Most dealers will give you this price without any hassle. If they don't, go to one that will.

One thing though is that you may not be able to find the exact car with the exact combination of options in the exact color you want. I usually look online through the dealer's inventory to see if they have something I'm interested in first.

Another thing that helps is to go to CarsDirect.com and print out the entire options list with prices and have that when you go to a dealer. That way, you can quickly add up the correct total in case they have slightly different options. Also, having that paper with Internet prices usually makes dealers more willing to give you what you want. Just make sure you flash it around so they can see it.
