2004 V8 vs 2005 V8 (vvti) pricing

Suppose you had a choice between an 04 V8 and 05 V8 (with vvti). Assuming same mileage on both, how much more would you be willing to spend for the 05 on today's used market?

Assuming everything else was similar also, like 4WD, and any other variables, no more than a few thousand.

I don't know if I would pay that much of a price difference. You gain some horsepower and torque, but it's also the first year of the VVTI on a V8 for the 4Runner. I'd say if mileage was comparable and optioned out the same, maybe as much as a thousand.

It would be the first year of vvti v8 on the 4runner, but vvti v8 isn't something that hasn't been done before. I actually think it has been on a different toyota/lexus vehicle before so i wasn't too worried about it.

Still i would agree with you, about thousand, at most.

Personally, I wouldn't even factor the engine into what I'd offer to buy it for -- to me, the condition of the vehicles is more important and would be what I'd base my offer on.

Then again, my $0.02.
