2005-11 Tacoma Skid on 3rd gen?

Hey, I could swear I've seen some pictures of people rocking the current Tacoma skid on their 3rd gens. I'm just wondering if this is the case, and if so, how hard it is to mount them? I'm tempted to pick up a local one here.

I was thinking I would herculine it as well as I'm sure I'd scuff it up at some point. Let me know what you guys think.
