2005 Center channel INSTALL??

Hi,

I have a 2005 Sport V6, and the previous owner literally WAS the old lady who drove the car on sundays to church. It had just over 20,000 miles when I got it in October 2010.

My problem is... The old lady who had the car, must have been VERY deaf. My speakers are shot.

I'm wondering if I can install a stock center speaker like the one in the JBL sound package, into my dash which doesn't have a center channel. I'm trying to keep my stock appearance as much as possible.

I'm installing a Pioneer FH-P8000BT HU, Pioneer 3-way 6x9 speakers in the front, Pioneer 6.5 3-way speakers in the rear, and a sub in the back with quick disconnects.

While I have the dash ripped apart, I'm wondering if that center channel can be put in too. Anyone do this? Please reply with pictures if you have them!

Search around in the audio section, you may have better luck in there vs in the 4th Gen general area.

If the pioneer has a center channel output then all you have to do is cut a hole in the dash, mount the speaker and the rest is wiring. If the pioneer does NOT have a center channel some type of crossover could help you add a center channel.

If you've got something to connect the speaker not a big deal. You can get the factory speaker grille from the dealer for about $35 or so. The trick would be finding a speaker to fit - my understanding is the OEM speaker is about $120.

Took a little bit of time getting the dash cut to fit - not a huge deal though. Photog has a thread somewhere detailing this pretty good.

We did this not too long ago, but we were just putting in a cheaper speaker for the CB. Unfortunately the speaker doesn't seem to agree with the CB unit - we get sound out of it when hooked to an ipod, but barely any sound when hooked to the CB. Still haven't figured that out.
