2005 Limited vs. 2006 Sport help!

Man. The internet can't do everything for you. As some point you have to make your own decision.
Which one do you like better? Is price or condition more important? Have they both been examined?

Sorry man, I'm strugglin' with it. The 2006 Sport, 3 owner, clean car fax, has NOT been loved. Looks like 2 kids(spilled drinks) and a dog(hair, back seat) had a party. Can it be cleaned, yes. The radio buttons, gearshift, carpet, etc. dirty. Once again can be cleaned with elbow grease. The outside has a few door dings, minor scratches. I like the body of the truck and front facia. Seems wider I guess due to the fender flairs. Also the projector headlights.
The 2005 Limited, 1 owner, clean car fax, is clean oh yeah and CLEAN inside & out. Very much loved.
You're right DC runner, I want someone to say, "GET THE ...." and everyone here loves their 2005 or 2006.

I like the '06 because of the refresh (better headlights, curved wheel wells, LED taillights, etc.). 3 owners makes me nervous. Why 3 owners? I'd take whichever one you choose in for a pre-purchase inspection though for sure.
Sport has xreas suspension, which consists of four diagonally linked shocks designed to improve and flatten handling. If it's significantly bumpier than the limited, maybe the system is beginning to fail? 100k is usually when shocks go.

When I was looking and realized the Sports have a hood scoop, I immediately ruled out the SR5 and Limited without a hood scoop. Moral or the story is DO YOU! whatever makes you happy is the right thing to do. Good Luck

Think of which you like better. I personally prefer the 4th gens before the slight change in style. I like the location of the turn signals/ DRLs on the front of the '03-'05 where they are at the bottom (5th gens also have them down there) where as the '06-'09 has them up with the headlights. I changed to projector headlights and swapped out the taillights and now I'm happy with it. I also prefer the squared off wheel wells, more rugged/off road-ish IMO. Also, you can always get a Sport Edition hood with a scoop in the future, like you can upgrade headlights and taillights. But, like everyone else said, which one appeals to you more?
I'm in the opposite camp. 2006+ are the way to go with the exterior changes. The projector headlights, tube steps and rack, LED tail lights. It has less miles too. As far as it being dirty, it's nothing a good shampooing and deodorizor can't fix. I would be a little shy about 3 previous owners however.

Ask him to clean the damn thing! Who sells a vehicle without cleaning it? It's all about presentation as far as I'm concerned. My 05' had 3 previous owners but had a very nice service history and was spotless pre-purchase.
All kidding aside, are you a fan of the refreshened styling? Do you want the extra bells and whistles in the Limited (leather, auto headlights, dual auto climate, dual power seats, auto dimming mirror)?

I know I might be biased but the Limiteds do come with more goodies. B/c its a 4Runner, they don't break. The Limited has been loved to death. The Sport is very nice, but as you pointed out, it's been beaten, AND after 3 owners? Answer is: Limited. Sure the sport has the "refreshed" lights/tail lights/whatever, but what good it is if it beat off??

Just another small question. I'm paying for 75% of this cash. Financing the other 25%. The credit union told me they could sell me a 2 yr. extended warranty on either vehicle. I know they're out for $$ but is it worth it? It covers alot but you know it never covers everything or what you need.
My feeling is no. I driven both a couple of times now. I'm thinking Toyo makes a damn good vehicle and it's not needed. ( My Suburban & Denali sure did!)

"Aftermarket" insurance/warranties are garbage. My friend sells used cars and he even told me they are not worth it. Doesn't sound like the trucks you mention here are CPOs? I guessing no.
