2005 MP3/iPod/CD

I'd like some recommedations on what kind of in-dash MP3/iPod/CD car stereo I can use to replace the factory stereo in my '05 4Runner.

you have a lot of options. i don't think any current deck has an ipod input without getting an auxiliary adapter for it.. i.e. alpine deck with alpine ipod unit.. etc..

also depends on your price range, what you're looking for out of it.. adjustable angle face, double din, single din, removable face, hidden cd slot, etc..

I am not looking for anything really fancy. Just something that will fit and hopefully go with the interior lighting scheme.

Any specific models of Alpine you can recommend? Does it fill the entire space for the factory stereo or would I need an install kit?

As far as fit, most of the dash kits for the 4Runner are going to be a 1DIN plus a pocket, so basically it'll have space to install the head unit and underneath there is just a little cubby for putting small things.
Specific Alpine units well their are quite a bit and since you would know what works for your needs: Alpine-USA

Just mouse over each title and it'll show a summary and a MSRP, though shopping online you can get a price much better than that displayed.
