2005 Rear liftgate not working

I had to have a dent repaired in the rear liftgate and the body shop had to unplug the eloectrics to do the body work. Everything is now assembled but the electric switch on the outside of the liftgate won't open it. I assume there is probably an error code in the system that needs to be cleared. The owner manual talks about going to the dealer, which I hate to do. Anyone have any experience with this? Is there an easy reset?

On a hunch I disconnected the battery and then did the reset for the moonroof, electric windows and rear window and locks. Sure enough, it fixed the problem. Good info for the next person with this problem.
