2005 SR5 with wheel squeak when turning left

2005 SR5 with 70k miles. No after market modifications.

A couple weeks ago, a squeak developed during slight left turns, such as changing lanes on the interstate. But only to the left. And only at highway speeds. Any harder turns, the squeak disappears. No squeak at all at lower speeds. No braking problems or vibrations. Power steering fluid is full.

Any ideas? Just something that needs some WD40 or other lubricant? Or the sign of something larger looming?

I just got a similar problem.

Everytime I turn right from 1/2 to full lock, I get little squeaks. Sounds like squeak....squeak....squeak, etc. Varies with speed and happens at all speeds.

I couldn't tell completely but it sounds like it's coming from the left tire. I don't think brakes would cause this. I greased the steering stops and that did nothing.

Going straight and turning left is fine, just turns to the right. ?? any ideas?

Digging up an old thread, but what did you guys find out about this?

I never had this problem on my 4th Gen, but my 5th Gen has it...

As much as I hate digging up old threads, I hate throwing money away more...

Still trying to find out what is going on with my 2015 4Runner squeaking on left turns only. On all 4 wheels in 2WD and 4WD I have a slight squeak from the driver's side front wheel when I make turns to the left. I tried everything I could think of to find the source of the squeak:

• I put a jack under just that side, turned the tire/wheel by hand, and could not duplicate the noise.
• I put the entire front end on a jack, turned the tire/wheel by hand, and could not duplicate the noise.
• I have lubed and checked everything. The wheel turns just as easily as the passenger side.
• I even mounted a GoPro pointed at the inside to find the noise. No luck...
