Hello all,

Im a long time lurker here, but been looking for the right t4r for a while. I found a 2005 SR5 V8 4WD with 98k miles on it and a clean carfax. This will be a second vehicle for me, mainly with the purpose of saving miles on my other car. Are there any major problems I need to look out for with this vehicle?

Thanks

I bought mine with about that many miles and the only thing I suggest is seeing if the timing belt has been replaced. It should be marked on the engine when/if it was done. The V8 is great, I love mine and have around 138k on it now w/o any issues at all.

the v8 is a reliable engine overall as long as it has a clean carfax it should be good and for more info on the toyota maintenance go to the toyota site and create a account on my vehicle and punch in the VIN and it should give you all the maintenance done at the dealer and by the way M Patel is my name haha

Do NOT trust Carfax to be accurate. Just because it's clean doesn't mean there it IS clean. Even carfax admits they can only collect less then 5% of all vehicle incidents that they report on. So that means 95% of incidents are NOT on a Carfax report. Doesn't mean there is something missing. If something shows up on the report then chances are good it's valid. But lack of something on the report doesn't mean there are no incidents.

Any used car vehicle should be thoroughly inspected by a trusted independent mechanic. That is by far the best way to minimize the chance of buying a lemon.
