2005 V8 4Rs in transit?

My dealer emailed me today, to say that they have several 05 V8 4Runners in freight to them.

Has anyone else heard anything about the V8's getting here before Jan 05?

I just emailed back to the salesman to confirm that he indeed has V8s in transit. I'll post back when I get a reply.

Thanks, but that thread kind of ran off the tracks, and then died before any questions were answered about whether this was really a V8. Plus, he had his on order for three months.

I'm talking about general dealer allocation, meaning that they will be plenty in stock at the dealers, not just for the special order customers. It was speculated a month ago that special orders may come first, like in December. I had relagated myself to waiting until Jan 05 to buy one. The email I got today gives me hope I won't have to start another winter driving the Camry.

I'll post back when I get confirmation from the dealer.

Sorry, false alarm......

Well as I originally suspected, the salesman finally got back to me, and their whole allocation is nothing but V6s. (no offense to those V6 owners out there)

He's a nice guy, but he doesn't always read my entire email before he answers. Oh well.

He told me that the late November/early December timeframe would probably be the earliest that they would see the V8s. I guess take that with a grain of salt, since he was wrong before.

To my surprise, the 04 that I had been looking at, and according their dealer website, was sold, is really still sitting on their lot. I may go in this weekend and see how low he will go on it. Right now he is around invoice, plus the 1000 cash-back from Toyota.
