2005 V8 4WD wiring diagrams

Hi all -

I need the wiring diagrams for the 2005 V8 vvti. specifically looking for the pinouts from the ECU to the 4WD ECU and all 4WD ECU pinouts.

i did the sound deadening / audio replacement and when i hooked everything back up, the 4WD beeps like its trying to go into 4LO. it never does and the center locker doesn't engage either. it just beeps.

i've troubleshot everything i can think of and at this point i think its a loose wire somewhere for the 4HI 4LO switch that the unit thinks its trying to go to 4LO. but even when i try to put it in 4LO, it stops beeping and looks good but it never actually does.

oddest damn thing my buddy and his shop couldn't figure out either, so starting point is the wiring diagrams.

yes i have the 2003 diagrams that are all over here, they are different.

There are dozens of threads about this problem. The wiring diagram is unlikely to help you. Most likely the actuator is not working due to non-use or it is jammed. Because it is beeping, it is wired correctly. No beep = bad wiring.

Choices are:

1. disassemble the actuator from the outsite and try to clear out the gummed up grease/water that has collected in there and reset all the sensor wheels and hope that the motors inside aren't rusted. (don't forget where the blue sensor wheel was located).

2. disassemble the actuator from the inside by dropping the transfer case, disassembling that and installing a new actuator unit from inside the transfer case. (don't forget new seals).

3. Completely swap out the entire transfer case for one that does not have the actuator full of water.

thanks duff but everything worked fine before the sound deadening project, and I cycle the 4LO every couple of weeks with no issues ever. additionally, if I jiggle the 4WD ECU while its beeping, the beeping frequency changes or stops, and the 4LO stops blinking and the diff locker starts blinking. I'm well aware of tons of threads on here and how no one knows how to get into 4LO and how to TS the case.

I still think its a wiring issue, or at least thats one step of the problem. Trying to confirm with proper diagrams. then, yeah, the steps you posted are my only options.

I would start with a new junkyard 4wd ecu first. Unless you believe that a wire was cut doing the sound deadening.

There have been several owners who disconnected the 4WD switch and then the system wouldn't work upon reconnecting it, upon further investigation it was found that one of the pins had gotten bent and after straighten the pin and reconnecting everything worked fine.

Have you inspected the connector and switch too insure this isn't the issue you're having?

Great idea this i will def do.

yeah the pins and the connector head all look ok. nothing bent, nothing corroded. reset the battery/ecu a bunch of times (this fixed the rear hatch ecu)
