2005 Vs 2006

Hey fellow 4Runner guru's I have to say I like the 2005 model 4Runner better than I do the 2006. The 2005 looks more rugged and aggressive. Will wait and see what 2008 4Runner will bring us. So give me some feed back Peace Out Big Hop :?

My feedback: You are correct that there are differences in the 2005 and 2006 models. You also stated that you want to see what the 2008 T4R will look like. My question to you....What about the poor 2007 model? Why all the hate for that one?

I like the front bumper, headlights, and grill of the 2006, but I like the rear bumper and fenders of my 2005 better. I like chrome on a truck too, but the chrome on the handles of the 06 SR5's are a bit much for me. I prefer the monochromatic look. The chrome handles are just distracting and detracts from the clean look imho. I remember a post somewhere when the first pictures of the 2006 trickled in that the rounded fenders gave it a softer more Durango-like look.

If I can do it all over again though, I'd get the 2006 Sport Edition in Galactic or Smoke. I like the old roof rack though rather than the new tubes. I'd prefer beefier tube steps too. I still like the 2006 styling though. New is good. I'm hoping I can get an SE in about 3 or 4 years. I'd still keep my '05 SR5 (my wife likes it) and just replace my 15 year-old Acura (which still runs great). Here's to the 2009 T4R!

Having owned an '04 SEV8 and now just bought an '06 SEV8, I would have to say I prefer the '06. The wider fender flares, and bulging front end give it a stronger look. I also like the lack of reflector light in the rear bumper. And the new seats are awesome. Just my 2 cents.

They got rid of the aux brake light housing in the rear bumpers for the 06's?? I didn't even notice that. Strike another one up for the 05 > 06!
