2006 4-Runner Info

For about a month or so now, I've been patiently waiting for my '05 V8 Limited 4-Runner. My dealer now informs me that it would likely be September before they can actually get what I want and then they can "add" all of the options that I want as "dealer installs". To that end, as I have time, I have elected to wait for an '06 Runner. Does anyone have any information regarding the '06, options, nav system offered, etc? Does anyone know when Toyota typically makes this data available? I'm already sold, I just want to know how to spec out my new baby.

I am in almost the exact same position as you are.

I just put in a "Preference Order" for a 05 4x4 V8 Limited. The dealer is telling me it might be another 3 to 4 months before it actually shows up. :bash:

At that rate the 2006 models will be hitting the showrooms at the same time as my 2005!

While I'm not sure what changes will be made in the 2006 models, I don't think they will be too important or dramatic overall.

I mean... what else can they do to improve on what is already an almost perfect vehicle. :bouncy2:

Here's a question for everyone...

What changes do you want to see in the 2006 models?

Personally,

I'm hoping for the Lexus V8 which is the same at the 'runner's except with a little different cam (more ponies). I'm also hoping that they go to the 4th gen Toyota Nav system. That would sure ease my mind about that option. Maybe the integrated bluetooth cell phone option that is on some of the cars would be nice. I don't want to buy something with an outdated nav system in it. Especially a rather high end vehicle! Other than that, maybe they will be looking at this board and fix up the little things like sunroof issues, rotten egg smell, etc. It would be great to have that fixed right from the start.

The only things I would like to see in the 05 T4R limited that were in my 02 Ford Explorer Limted is 1-2 power plugs in rear seat area, back up alarm (for the wife, honest 2 memory power seat posistion (wife uses midget mode) thats bout all I can think of this time, maybe in 06

I'd like to see them get rid of the gas door release, and just connect it to the door locks like my wife's car.

I wish the remote rear window control could close the window, too.
