2006 4Runner: Clock and AC display not lighting up in dark??

Hi guys, I'm the new owner of a 2006 4Runner.

Today was the first time I drove at night. I turned on the headlights and started driving. I quickly noticed that the panel that displays clock, temp, and AC controls is not lit up.

Please tell me I'm missing something simple and that Toyota did not design the panel to remain dark at night?

It lights up. The bulbs are probably burned out as they seem to do often in these trucks as they get older. Do a search it's easy to replace the bulbs yourself.

Great, did a little reading on the matter and it does look to be the bulbs. The replacement looks to be very easy too.

Does anyone have a part number to those two replacement bulbs? I'd prefer to order online than to drive to the dealer and pay their prices.

Yes, the limited does have 2 lights in the middle temp control

Yes, according to the parts diagram, you will need bulbs "B" if you want to change those out.

Just replace nine bulbs in mine. Mostly HVAC screen and two switches. The biggest pain was getting all the part numbers.

Now if I could just figure out the stereo hu. It looks so dim.

Toyota doesn't list any replacement bulbs/LCD screen for the radio. They only have the whole factory radio itself or replacement knobs. I don't have the factory HU anymore, so I don't recall what lit up. Looks like you would have to buy a whole new radio. I would replace with aftermarket.

The buttons all light up fine; the screen is what is so dim. It is lit, just not enough. Looks the same whether lights are on or off. In the daytime, you can't tell it is lit, but it looks fine because you don't need it to be.

Aftermarket HU is on the list as soon as I get some other things fixed first.

So my A/C controls seem like they’re not getting any power. No lights and when I hit a button nothing happens. The air condition is stuck on full blast High. Because I believe that was the last function I was using. Can anyone help me with this issue. Also the display lit up and o my showing the time nothing else.
