2006 4runner hood protector

Just got my wife an 06 4 runner and we plan on using in for
weekend trips. I called the dealer to get a price on a bug deflector/ hood protector and they told me that thier book did not list one for 2006. I called Colgan regarding a bra and they do not have one for 2006 either. Can anyone recommend one that will
fit a 2006. I tried to locate a local 3-m clear bra installer with no
luck. Thaks for you input.

If you are looking for a deflector, your dealer should have it or can order it. '03 thru '06 are the same. You could probably get it cheaper from partznet.com or Carson Toyota.

If you want a clear bra go to your local BMW or MB dealer. They send out cars all the time for this and also have someone come in to do it. They will know who is good.

My advice is to not even bother with the other type of bra. They are a PITA. They are hard to clean and when they get wet you need to remove them to dry out otherwise they can cloud your paint if left on wet and in the sun.

2006 has a different grille, so the hood deflector will be different. Ohh, I was talking about Canadian version, US version should fit '03-'06.

I've talked to the guy in my dealership. He told me that 2005 Canadian Hood Deflector will NOT fit '06 model, they are expecting 2006 model soon.
 
Your dealer is right! The 03-05 hood had a "snout" like nosed front hood end. The '06's hood is more like the Tundra, Tacoma and Seqouia. Even the chrome grilles have changed on the '06's......there is more chrome around the edges of the grille than there was on the '05 models.

I have mixed feelings on the looks of the two different grilles as a whole but think the chrome grille change was for the better on the '06.
 
The US bug shield will not work on the 2006 4Runner either. There is no opening in the center of the grille for the bug shield to hook onto. My 2005 has enough of a gap between the hood and grill for the bug shield to attach.

Did you ever get the clear bra? If so, how much? I am still debating if this is worth the investment and trouble.

Did you have any luck checking the 3M web site for a dealer? Try XPEL web site to see if you can locate any dealer.
 
06 Toyota Hood Protector

I just ordered an 06 Toyota 4Runner Hood Protector for $87.84 (+s/h) from Toyota.WebAccessories.com http://toyota.autowebaccessories.com/ at 1-866-298-6832 (1-866-AWTOWEB).

I called and talked to the salesman (Mike) and asked if this was specifically for the 2006 4Runner, and he confirmed that it is. The order is supposed to ship Wed. and should arrive next Monday.

I'll let you know if it fits as soon as I get it. That will be my first time to raise the hood, I guess I need to know how to do that anyway.
