Congradulations on your new 4Runner!

I picked up my 2005 about a month ago. I was kind of disappointed that I didn't get a 2006 model. I order my 4Runner and there was a possibility it would have been a 2006 model. As it turns out, I probably got the very last 2005 4Runner made.

While I will miss the memory seats, bluetooth, thicker glass, and Ipod interface I like the outside of the 2005 way more than the 2006 so I'm happy.

Just when I thought I didn't like the new '06 styling, I finally get to see the SE! That's one great looking truck! Congrats!

Maybe it's just me or the angle the front end pics were taken from, but it seems to resemble a big 'ol Grouper(fish). Between the projector headlights and the lower grill.

Nah, must just be me and my jealousness.

What a awesome looking truck, it almost looks like a cross between the 05 4runner and the Dodge Ram pickup. I am very glad I wait til the 2006. Thanks for the great pics. BTW the instrument cluster is greatly improved also, too bad they did change the HVAC controls.

No changes to the instrument cluster except for the location of the turn signals, also don't think there have been any changes to the HVAC controls.
But, what do I know, I haven't seen an '06 up close yet.

I actually like the HVAC controls, thought they were odd looking at first, but now I find them so easy to use.

Thank you for the welcome 00328, if you look closely, the three bezels on the gauges are different. IMO, the 06 looks better. Does anyone here thinks that the HAVC controls grows on you after a while?

the light is designed differently... shucks.... the foglights and the stance looks more menacing.....


I like the running bars also!!! argh!

I was kinda hoping they would work, with a little modification of course.

2006 Wheels

Now that the wheel openings have been rounded and the lower cladding has been expanded on the 06, I'm looking forward to seeing some TRD wheels (20" Enkei Deep Six) installed on an 06. I have always liked these wheels, but have been hesitant to put 20s on a mid-size SUV because of the proportions. Even though they look great on the 03-05 4Runners (see Noloc's 04), I think their size is better suited for a Sequoia because of the larger wheel openings. Now with the 06, the wheels just look smaller, so maybe the larger wheels will have that perfect fit. Of course, this is just a thought... what do you guys think?

from the pictures they have the front of the new tundra's....... the 05 4runners have a flat bottom... the 06's have this little lip that go upward so that means replacing the peice under the light which I think involves the whole fender.... I haven't looked yet though.

The piece under the light is replaceable on its own. It's about $20 for each side unpainted (at least for the 03-05's).

Can you please post a shot of the rear. Especially a shot of the rear bumper. I got some pics of the 06's but a fence messed things up. I am in the market to get something new but the 06 4Runner is making things hard. Right now I am trying to decide between the 4Runner and the Tacoma. Thanks.

I like the new headlights and taillights. Have you tried them at night? How they are performing?
Where is "AUX" jack located? Is it in the box between the front seats?

Hey 06,
Can you throw a few pics up of your new rig from a side view? Just wanna get a good feel how the new wheel wells look. Rig looks nice, only gripe I have is I am used the the squared wheel wells, and the chrome grill. Besides that, looks tough. I think the WW will grow on me though.
