2006 4Runner X-SP Sport Package

I got this in the mail yesterday and I knew you all would be very interested in seeing it. I had no idea that Toyota was planning on making an X-SP 4Runner. I was happy with my '05 until now, I really want this X-SP package!

Looks cool - do you think that's a factory option or a regional dealer model? Looks like you could do the same with after market products but may cost more? Did you go to a dealer to check one out yet?

My dunlops won't last the entire winter like I thought they would.

It would be interesting if Toyota offered all of this from the factory. Then again, I'd skip on the

exhaust - don't need performance at reduced fuel economy
carbon fibre trim - might look nice
leather/suede - prefer cloth for the 4runner
mats - I'd upgrade to weathertech's
spoiler - stock on SE's

.. These seem to be all dealer installed accessories down to the badging.

Where do you guys get that it costs $1500??? The ad states $1500 discount of the X-SP equipped 4Runner... I bet the package adds more than 3 grand to the price, probably more than $1500 over the standard sport edition with this discount.

Yes, it appears to be an SR5 that has had those options added to it at port. I did a local search and I found two at my closest dealership. The package is $3,994 ($2,494 after the discount) which in my opinion isn't too bad considering everything you get. When it comes time to trade my '05, I might just have to look into this. I'd really like to have leather too, because this black cloth in the SE shows everything and everything sticks to it.

I think it's a port-installed option package that's available in certain regions. I know Tundras have had the XSP package installed with similar options for a while now and those options were all port-installed i think.

Those wheels look so good...lordy. Saw one of these in Venice FL just like this and it looked so good in black with those wheels.

It seems pretty obvious to me that this X-SP is a dealership modified 4Runner, not a new version of the 4Runner from Toyota.

It's an SR5 that is debadged with aftermarket wheels, spoiler, exhaust, leather and custom mats.

Hitman, you got it right. It's a SR5 has been degadged to X-SP by region distributor, not by Toyota nor dealer. There were eight of them sitting @ the dealer when I picked up my Sport V8. It looks nine .....but the exhaust sound likes shit. BTW, the X-SP package MSRP is $3999 in my region. Now after $1500 off, it's may become a best option package that money can buy.

Looks like a downgrade not an upgrade. All the stuff is fluff, the 20" wheels downgrade the ride, the OEM exhaust is Toyota quality stainless steel who knows what the dual exhaust is that they put on the X-SP, aluminum.

I personally do not see the use in having 20" street performance tires on an SUV, especially the 4Runner.

If you want bling bling and low profile racing tires, put them on a car, not an SUV (unless you wanna be like those rappers on the MTV videos. )

It's just a premium "rice" package and nothing more. It's too bad Toyota won't release a TRD Off Road package for the Runner.

I thought I had seen a commercial showing this last night, but just caught the tail end of it. Yeah, it looks more like a dressed up SR5 than anything else, they could have at least started with Sport Edition.

The exhaust is borla..hence t304 Stainless

If Toyota did offer a TRD Off Road Package for the 4Runner, what would it come with?

What are the differences between the Tacoma with/without the Off-Road Package?

Stickers dude.

On the Tacomas the shocks were the big diff along with a few other options. I think Toyota could offer a 4th gen TRD model with a little more ground clearance and off roadable suspension/tires and maybe offer a rear locker which has been absent for almost 6 years now and than maybe some TRD stitching on the seats along with the stickers of course.
It could be an add on to the Sport package.

I figure the Highlander/Sport packages were as close as Toyota was going to get so I supplied mine with a set of TRD Sport stickers.
The '99-'00 years were also the last to offer 5 speeds and a rear diff lock which helps set them apart from other Runners.

It doesnt even have color matched mirrors. If the package is "looks" oriented i would think they would do at least that and a hood scoop fot that price. Total waste of money. Save the 4000 and add stuff yourself for way cheaper.

mirrors should be coler coded like that it looks cheesy
they should of went with chrome rims to match the chrome handles and chrome grill and maybe drop the rims down to 19inch for better ride quality
