2006 Factory Nav vs 2004 Facotry Nav

I am in the middle of replacing a totalled 2004 4runner with factory Nav. I'll probably get an 06 4runner with the factory Nav (unless I find another make of car that makes more sense... not probable).

Does anyone out there have experience using both systems? If so, how much of an improvement is the 2006 system? Has anyone used an IPOD with the 2006 system's mini jack hookup? How is the sound quality of hooking an IPOD up that way? Does this system give you a choice of Sirrus or XM, or just XM?

Are there any reviews of spec sheets out there for the new 2006 factory Nav unit?

Bummer on the totaled vehicle! Check out that new '07 Mazda CX7. Its not as big nor as rugged as the Yota 4Runner but sharp looking and some neat features. Probably a couple grand less too. Small 2.3L engine but turbo charged so 244HP and 18-24 MPG. ZOOM-ZOOM.

The CX-7 is on my list of cars to check out. Also, I plan to visit the Acura dealer to see the new RDX.

My main concern with those vehicles is how I would easily transport my mountain bikes. I ride 3 times a week and really prefer hitch mounted bike racks. The 4runner is great for that, but some of the newer cars seem to have an edge when it comes to technology (i.e. RDX).

We'll see. Maybe the 2006 4runner factory Nav is a big improvement. I am on the phone a lot and blue tooth is a must.
