I concur with Thai. I sort of like it's boxy look. (But the exterior bolt heads have to go!) While probably not the most aerodynamic SUV on the road, it is easily recognized as a Jeep. Many other brands are hardly distinguishable anymore (e.g. GM products).
Of course given Chrysler/Daimler reliability I probably wouldn't own one.

Strong acceleration, quiet interior, high seat comfort, excellent driving position, luxury features galore.
What Needs Work:
Laughable fuel mileage, gets mistaken for a Hummer, third-row seat is a kids-only zone, fairly long stopping distance from 60 mph.
Bottom Line:
It can be easily dismissed as a square Grand Cherokee with a third-row seat, but the Jeep Commander Limited 4x4 is more than the sum of its parts.

I'm just curious why all this information on a vehicle that 99% of this forum will never own?
Why heavily promote non-Toyota vehicles on a 4Runner forum?
IMO the Commander is a joke of an SUV and very ugly in person and the 3rd row seating is for 5 year olds only.
I know it's a comparison and review thread but this much info is overkill on a vehicle that nobody on this thread seems to care about.

Geez, Ron...how long have you been on this forum and you just notice this now???
This section of the forum is for comparisons and reviews of most (if not all) SUVs on the market...that has been my intention all along. It gives people a source to look at SUVs that they may want to upgrade to or change to. It doesn't hurt for some people to read the positives and negatives of other vehicles...be a more informed buyer/member. And that 1% of people may find this info useful.
In addition, i do care about the Commander and other SUVs on this subforum. I try to read up on other SUVs to self-educate myself instead of being close-minded to only Toyota stuff.
So, i take it that you're also against the thread about G-wagens, too??

Ron, this is just part of the required continuing education Thai must do in order to maintain his status as Board Certified SUV Nut Thai, I actually took a look at this thread just now to learn about the Commander cuz one of my coworkers just got one with the Hemi - so I for one do appreciate the info (I'll enjoy telling them that their vehicle is already slated to be discontinued )
