unfortunatley that ice storm we (northeast / Long Island) got last weekend left me with a cracked windshield. Not sure how it happened, all i know is on Saturday the 17th i went outside at about 8am to find my car covered in about 1/4" of ice. i got the door opened and started it up, put the defroster on hi and went inside for coffee and breakfast. I came out about 20 minutes later, most of the ice had melted, so i cleaned her off to go to the store, when i got inside i noticed i had a nice 20" long crack starting from the center of the windshield, going up about 4 inches and then over to the driver side and back down...
fortunately i have glass coverage so the replacement is going to cost me Zip...i just wanted to check in here to see if there are any pitfalls with replacing the windshield, and if going with a vendor like safelite is OK...
thanks in advance!

If you go with OEM toyota you should be able to get one with the hydrophillic(sp?) coating that comes stock on the T4R.
