2006 Price

I'm looking at a 2006 Sport model and would like to get some input on the price because it seems a little high to me. I have always bought Ford's and Chevy's and I'm not sure about the values of the Toyota's.

Here is is:
2006 SR5 Sport edition
14,500 miles

$29995.00 window sticker W/ a trade in allowance of $8635.00 for my 03 Ford Explorer wi 62,000 miles on it.

or

$28100.00 out the door no trade.

Theyre playing games with the numbers. No idea what your Explorer is worth- so figure that out, then run the numbers and see where you come out on the purchase price.

FYI, I paid less than $30k for my '07 4WD Sport V8 brand new (with the rebate).

for 2k more you can get a brand new sport 2007 model

or

for about 3k more you can get a brand new 2008.

if your going to spend 29k on a used 2006, why not go for another one

I'm sorry... it does not include tax and tags.

I think I'm going to hold off until I learn more about the Toyota resale values and try and find a good deal. I love these cars though and I can't wait to get one.

If I came into the dealership with cash I think that $28100.00 for two year old car is too much. I think they were giving me an ok deal on a new one for $31000 but that was an 07 not an 08...

According to the Edmunds site that 4runner is worth about $25 - $27k. I bought a `04 Sport about two weeks ago from a dealer that offered it $22k and I counted at $18 and got it for $19k where as Edmunds has it worth about $20k. If you like the one at the Fairfield dealership try offering them $23k and if they counter at a price above what Edmunds says its worth from a dealer I'd show them the Edmunds print out and tell them that's what its worth and its the final offer. I did that on a car I bought a few years ago from an obstinate dealer and they sold it to me at the Edmunds published dealer price; $5000 less than their "final" offer.

Calm down now ...

I have bought many cars in my life being a business owner. And I have had my share of problems with American vehicles. As for the Ford Explorer I drive now it hasn't had one single problem (knock on wood) in 63000 miles. So I can't bash it.

I want a 4Runner because they're more sexy and I think they are just a better car.


I am used to dealing with the typical Ford/Chevy dealers that are always desperate... The Toyota dealers seem cool, calm and smarter. I am trying to learn how to deal with them.
