2006 Seat Heater

Most seat warmers provide heat in both areas. My BMW heats my lower back as well and they are typically smaller seats. I can't imagine that the 4Runner wouldn't do the same. I mean, what's the point? Don't you agree?
 
I think mine does both the bottom and lower back. I could swear I felt a little heat in the lower back portion unless I am imagining things! Overall, I don't think any Toyota/Lexus seat gets hot enough. The BMW seats can really burn you if left on high.
 
I like the way BMW seats warm up so hot. They actually penetrate through several layers of clothes that you would wear in the winter anyway. There's no going back after I have them now. Only the 4Runner we ordered didn't list it as an option.
 
My Acura did bottom and back for the driver, just botttom on the passenger.

I miss the heated seats. I used them all year.

A friend's ES 330 has ventilated seats, wierd feeling.
 
I would have never ordered heated seats but came with the Limited package. I could never see the cost/purpose. After a couple winters, they are GREAT! The heat takes a mile or two to START getting warmed. The seats take a couple blocks. It's funny how you get to love things just by accident!

That's the one thing I miss from my '99 Blazer. Missing the power/memory seats aren't so bad, but I do miss my heat seaters. Its amazing how much faster you warm up in cold weather when the seats get warm too. Sometimes I never even used the vent heat on chilly days.

They will come with CST leather sometime in the future, just get me through this winter!!
 
It sounds like people are having different experiences with the heated seat zones. I would think it has more to do with whether or not the heated seats (and more likely, the leather seats) were a factory installed or port installed option. My past experience has showed that port options usually cut some corners that you would have gotten if the options had been OEM at the factory.

I have the OEM Leather on mine, and mine don't feel like the heat the back at all. Maybe it depends on the year too? mine is an 04
 
I have an 06 SR5 with port installed leather. My seat heaters have a 3-position toggle switch for each of the front seats. The middle position is "off", the forward position (designated with 2 horizontal lines) heats both the lower back and seat bottom, the back position (designated with 1 horizontal line) heats just the lower back. There was a card in my glove box that described the operation of the seat heater. It states that you can cut a wire loop under the seat to make the switches control the temperature instead of which parts of the seat receive the heat. If you cut the wire loop, then both parts of the seat are heated and the switch just gives you 2 different temperatures.

On my 05 (which was replaced with the 06 through the lemon law) the seats didn't get as hot as the 06 nor did it heat up as fast as my 06. It seems that it was improved. I think the Limited has a wheel type control for the heater, but I might be mistaken.

If you guys don't have this card, I can type the info in a post.
