2006 Tire Pressure Monitoring System

Alright....here's the deal. I woke up this morning it was about 33 degrees outside. I started my car and the tire pressure monitoring system stayed on. Then I drove down a little backroad to drop something off for my wife at work stayed on the whole way. Got to my wifes job....turned the engine off then turned it back on...still stayed on! So finally I got on the highway then 5 mins later it turned off....Is this a normal thing when it is cold? or is it a malfunction? Does anyone else have this problem?

**on a side note. I also have a noise whenever I hit a bump or go over any uneven surface. The noise comes from the back passenger side between the back seat and the rear hatch....like a panel is loose or something like that, does anyone else have a problem with that?**

Please use the search function and you'll see that both of these are common issues.

Winter temps drop the the tire pressure causing the light to come on. Some normal driving heats up the tires causing the PSI to increase so your light turns off.

Electrical tape will fix the noise in the back.

There is a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) published by Toyota to address the rear seat latch noise. I believe it involves having the dealer realign the latch on the passenger side rear seatback. You can see it when you flip the rear seat forward.

I had the same issue and went with the D-I-Y electrical tape fix. It worked and has held up for nearly a year so far.

Same here, two or three layers of tape should be ok. One layer isn't enough and the latch will tear through the single layer when seatback is put back in the upright position, and the squeak will make its way back.
