2006 XM Radio

Hello All,

I recently purchased a 2006 4Runner Sport Edition (without navigation) and have some questions regarding XM Radio.

I was told by the dealership that XM radio was available with the model I purchased and that all I would need to do was set it up through XM.

I have now found out that this is not true and that some extra part needs to be installed before I can operate XM Radio through the factory headunit.

Can anyone tell me what parts I will need to be able to operate XM radio through the factory installed headunit? Cost involved with it?

I want to maintain a clean look and thus want to have the XM operate through the factory headunit if at all possible.

You can always do what others have done here and buy a SCION head unit. It's a clean install and looks good. However, I hear the rest of the XM stuff to make it work through the head unit is pretty expenisive from Toyota. You can do a search on ebay and see what you come up with.

I've been trying to find the same answer. I called the dealer. the parts guy did not have listing for the XM module and antenna in his 06 4Runner parts. He called Toyota and was told that the components are being manufactured and will be available in March 06.

The XM tuner kit is available from Toyota parts places and dealerships for around $320.

I'm selling my unused Toyota XM tuner kit for $300 plus shipping and including a perfect condition Scion head unit for free.
