2007 4Runner Accessories

Hello T4R.orgers,

I just signed up and am not officially an honored owner of such an exquisite vehicle. My wife and I just ordered our 2007 Limited 4x4 from the factory and will impatiently count the days till delivery. Dealer told me they have to tell me up to six months, but should be only around three. I'll keep my fingers crossed. We decided on the Shadow Mica, a very sharp color in our opinion.

Anyway I'm learning as much as I can about the 4Runner. Regarding aftermarket parts, which I'm sure depends on what part exactly, how comparable is the 2007 4R to the '06, '05, etc. When I search for 2007, most aftermarket part dealers haven't updated their site to account for 2007. I would think any 2006 part would be compatible, but I want to make sure. Thanks for your input and glad to be a part of the forum.

CONGRATS WILL BE IN ORDER FOR YOU SOON .AS FOR THE PARTS THE 06 AND 07 ARE THE SAME.05 HAS DIFFERENT FRONT END. GOOD LUCK!
 
I am also getting a 07 soon, although its only a 2 a and a half week left wait for me. Galactic gray limited v6, fully loaded. I cant wait to join the club with you. Good luck on the wait.
 
I am about to order my 2007 Sport V8 due to none on the lots having the side signal mirrors and air bag option.

2007's come with a side signal option you can order from Toyota? :confused:

yeah it's a port installed option...along with tinited windows and few other things. I think it's only offered from dealers that are in the Gulf States Region.
 
They probably just install the Muth mirrors - which you can probably add much cheaper. If its port/dealer installer why can the just retrofit one in stock?

Well you could but you'd have to run the wires up to a blinker wire somewhere. I'm not the worlds best electrician and I wouldn't want to ruin my nice 4runner. Besides they will cost you around $289 by the time you receive them. Why not pay $325 to get them and have them installed by Toyota and have them covered under the bumper to bumper warranty?

As you can tell from my initial start of this post, it's been over four months. Well I'm happy to say that my family is officially a 4Runner family. We took delivery of our vehicle yesterday. Initially wanting a Shadow Mica, we settled on the Galactic Gray Mica. Which is really not a bad alternative if I don't say so myself. As soon as I can I'll post some pics. Just wanted to come out of hibernation to share the good news.

The day after and I'm already making a list of must get accessories. =)

What happened with the special order, why the color change from what you specifically wanted?

Apparently we found out last week that the dealer was just preferencing the vehicle we wanted. According to him they don't just order a vehicle for customers. I may be wrong, but I think that is BS. Regardless, we've been waiting four months and wanted to finally get it. I was even willing to go to a V8 if it became available.

So in the last four months no vehicle came into the Houston port for the five states it stocks that would match up with what we wanted. Yes we were picky, but that's why we were willing to "order" it.

It actually is a nice color, so I'm not very disappointed.
 
Interesting, thanks for the info. I talk about this a little in my 'Purchasing' write up. Many times a dealer will say they are doing a special order when in reality they just wait it out. They figure they have upto 6 months and that they will indeed find what you want, or that a preference for that vehicle will turn up. It's near impossible to tell if they are scamming you and never put in the true special order.

What they figured was correct, that after waiting for 4 months you would give in and buy whatever was the closest thing they could get.

You should post the dealers name and alert others to avoid this type of dealer.
