2007 4Runner snowboard racks

Hi, I am looking to buy either a Thule or Yakima snowboard rack. I need one that can hold 4 snowboards. Thule and Yakima both make a rack for around $129-149 and both claim to be "universal". However when i looked at the list of compatible factory cross bars, it lists 2002-2006 4Runners. Can anyone tell me if the Thule or Yakima racks around that price work with the 2007 4Runner with no additional maintanence or products? Thanks

I have an 03 4runner with an older set of yak snowboard racks (holds 4). I had to pick up one of the horizontal tabs (or was it vertical.. don't remember).

Sometimes yak and thule are slow to update their info. Based on the look it does not appear that the rack design has changed so you should be fine picking up the 03+ tabs.

Works well, easy to use. I would say both yak and thule will be good. Just pick the mfg you like and enjoy the snow.

I most likely will be buying a slimline box for my 4Runner for my boards for this winter season. I have a 6ski/4board rack from Thule that has treated me nice for the past 2 seasons. It's 91725 - Universal FlatTop 6. I'd recommend it for the 4Runner even though I haven't had it on mine. I previously had it on a '01 Jeep Cherokee. If you want it to have the option for it to extend out there's the 91726 - Universal PullTop 6 ..but it's also $70 more, and I never felt the need for that feature. I just stood on the side bars and easily accessed the boards/skiis. I would think even with this slide out feature that you'd still have to stand on the sidebars or running boards to access the equipment anyways.
I'm kind of hoping I can fit a slim box on one side and the flattop rack on the other side on my roof... Has anyone done/tried this?

I would suggest a box rather than racks, keep the road crud off your boards. Almost ruined a pair of skiis a few years back because the edges were so corroded from road salt.
