2007 4runner V8 smells like eggs under heavy acceleration

I have an 07 V8 runner with 99k on it. Just recently purchased. Runs normal no engine codes but smells like sulfur/rotten eggs when accelerating. Doesn't seem normal? Any help or suggestions?

Its normal. Its just how Toyota and other Japanese cats work. Just got to live with it or have you exhaust turned out to the side.

step on it and you'll get the smell. LOL

This technical service bulletin (TSB) might help explain things.

TSB is for a 2006 - but this problem has existed since 4th generation started in 2003.

It's normal. Turn the exhaust out to the side for a decent fix.

I work for service at BMW and I have seen that on BMW's but that was only with a bad cat. Not saying yours is though.

Let me guess, you smell it when you have the rear window down which you are not supposed to have down when driving?

if you weren't supposed to have the rear window down while driving then they wouldn'd have made it to do just that, if you hate rotten eggs (most do) then turn your exhaust out like all generations before this one. My 87 and 95 runners never had exhaust-into-cabin issues! It is amazing what gets lost when companies "make things better" not saying I'd go back though!

I usually get the blame for the smell!!! But there are other manu other than Toyota's that have the smell...
