2007 Brake Master Cylinder - the bad news

Here is the wrap up:
-1st time to visit dealer, they replaced the brake pads. Said that some non-Toyota brake pads are harder, and do not hold like the recommended original equipment.

Odd thought I, as the brakes pads were changed and rotored just 10 months prior. They were just fine for many months.

Dealer requested I drive for 500 miles to let the new pads "set."

I don't know, doesn't sound right, but OK says I.

Drove 400 miles and took it back.

- 2nd time to visit dealer: More diagnostics and research - they recommended the replacement of the Brake Actuator / brake master cylinder.

Gave me a discount on labor since I paid for the new brakes.. and net rate on the Part. List price on the Brake Cylinder Assembly is $2389.93

I've had it for two weeks.
Seems fine now.

As a diagnosis for your problem, that is the biggest crock of sh*t I've ever heard. If that's their level of competency, I would not use them again.

Ouch. So that's what they charged you to put it in, or are you just telling us the regular price?

If so what did they actually charge you. It's seeming more and more likely this is my issue as well...
