More On-road Refinement
While improving its legendary 4x4 Jeep capability, the all-new 2007 Jeep Wrangler offers enhanced on-road comfort due to an all-new 100 percent stiffer frame in bending, 50 percent stiffer body, refined five-link coil suspension, improved shock tuning, 2-inch longer wheelbase and 3.5-inch wider track. In addition, new steering and suspension geometry provides precise ride and handling characteristics, and new sound-deadening techniques reduce cabin noise by more than 20 percent.

It looks kinda cutesy in the front...and mini-LR3 in the back. Otherwise, it looks cool IMHO. The transmission is tucked up, unlike the current Rubicon.

The interior design of the all-new 2007 Jeep Wrangler draws from the exterior, with a straightforward, athletic expression that delivers a new level of comfort, spaciousness and convenience. The use of round elements and crisp chamfered surfaces is evident throughout the cabin, creating a consistent and precise appearance.

Wow...Jeep has a winner here IMHO. The Rubicon model is the one to get:
- Rubicon gears: 4:1 transfer case, 4.10 Dana 44's, 32-in BFG M/T, front & rear lockers. (note: Jeep change from Goodyear MT/R to BFG M/T and upsize it to 32-in...BFG is quieter on-road and better in mud.)
- Optional front sway-bar disconnect...RTI = 832!
- ESP (stability control), Brake Assist, and ABS (with off-road program) = standard equipment! Wow.
- Modern interior with more space...very cool hardtop!
- Strong frame...well, it's stronger than the current model.
- Side airbags are optional...i hope that they will also protect head.
The only potential negative is that a loaded Rubicon will probably be over $30K...and that is expensive for a toy. Engine is kinda on the weak end for a 4100-lbs truck. I think that the engine is from the Chrysler minivan line.
Anyway, at least on paper and in photos, the new '07 Jeep Wrangler is quite impressive and will be a class-leader in off-roading.

Thai said:Well, after looking at the FJ Cruiser interior, i am not too sure that the Jeep's interior is all that bad....
The fj may not be a winner either but there is something about that Jeep steering wheel and the plastics and set up of the center of the dash board that I really don't like.

That video didn't exactly show off the awesome offroad abilities of a Rubicon. I'm glad they finally integrated the foglights into the bumper. That was one thing I always disliked about the Wranglers. I'm definately a big fan of the Rubicon and if I didn't need way more room I'd probably own one!Thai said:

Sadly, before the new Grand Cherokee came out, the Jeep Wrangler had the best IIHS crash testing scores of any Jeep!! And i believe that it also had the best reliability scores of any Jeep because it did not have much electronics to break.

They were average before, not safe enough for me.
