2007 Limited- remove rear spoiler?

I know many would consider me crazy for even asking, but I have a 07 Limited 4runner w/ the rear spoiler. I really don't like to look of the spoiler and was trying to see if there was some way I could remove it and plug the holes in a way that would be water tight. Probably not a good idea, but I thought I'd ask. Thanks for any thoughts you may have...

Bodywork would be the only way I would see to plug them and still look good. I don't think it would be worth it but you could offset or cover the charges by selling your removed spoiler.

Keep the spoiler. Check if you have the liftgate brakelight (the location is blocked by the spoiler).

That's true. If you had the spoiler from factory, there isn't a third light behind it where 4Rs w/o spoiler have their third light mounted.

The spoilers are usually from the factory, so there is no tailgate brake light. IMO just leave I like it and would not want 6 black dots on the back of my car.

I think the rear spoiler is almost always port installed. Therefore, I would assume the rear third light would be behind the installed spoiler.

I think if you see a 05,06,07 with the "hump" spoiler, there won't be a third brake light behind it because it is factory installed.

I have an 06 with the old style spoiler (port installed by gulf states) and there is a brake light (disconnected) behind my spoiler.

06 here w/ no third light behind the spoiler.

I'd rather not have the spoiler I don't like the look , to SUV ish looking . . Been thinking of taking mine off too. But I would have to put it back on if I turn it in when lease is done. I might buy out my lease anyway since I will be 26,000 miles under what I leased it for . Its up in Feb 09. Since I've already paid for the add'l miles up front I'd hate to give it back with that many less miles on it. Bad for me , good for the stealer.

Oh by the way if I do remove it , my son is a certified Toyota painter and works at a Toyota specialized body / paint shop so I can get it done right and painted free.
