2007 SE Driver's Seat "Click"

In the past month or so, my 2007 SE with around 20K miles has developed a click sound that comes from somewhere beneath my driver's seat whenever I make a left or right hand turn. I occasionally hear it if I stop or accelerate quickly.

I have tried to rock the seat around by hand, and by moving my butt around to simulate a hard turn - but can't replicate the sound that way.

When I hear the click, I can also feel it through the seat.

I've read about 2003-2004 4th gens that have had seat frame issues, but nothing from more recent production.

Anyone experience anything similar or have any advice?

My next service isn't due for another 4000 miles or so - and I don't want to make a special trip to the dealer just for this at this point.

LOL. I think CJ3 is stalking me.

Seriously bill, it went on forever, I had to sue Toyota and they settled relatively quickly but it still wasn't enough for all the aggravation I endured.

And CJ3 left out the latest link. After I got rid of my 06, I bought an 08 Urban mainly bc I love 4Runners and figured that there was no way in hell that the trucks could still have seat problems after all those years. You can check another of my threads - I was wrong. Shortly after gettting my new Urban, yep, up pops the same damn issue. I was kicking myself for getting another one (but the deal was so good I couldn't pass it up).

OK, bought it from a different dealership, spoke with the service manager, emailed him my entire case file from my suit against Toyota...and he promptly ordered an entire brand new seat, no questions asked. Didn't have to spend a year ****ing around with this crap, a whole new seat within three days...and so far so good (I hope I don't jinx myself here).

But so far the seat replacement solved the problem. It's been almost 3 months now and no problems.

Talk to your dealer and see what's up. If you need my case file, PM me and let me know, maybe that will help.

My dealer has been good with the one other rattle issue I brought to his attention (replaced both sunvisors) so we'll see how it goes...

I have the same issue with my 08, just took it in for 1st service and had the dealer look at it. They ordered a new seat for me on the spot. Hopefully this solves the problem, cause it is super annoying.

I just noticed mine doing the same thing about 2 weeks ago. I notice it on turns and when I get in and out. It sounds like a plastic pop sound. It's annoying me because I feel like the seat must be broken to make these sounds. If i have the extended warranty on a CPO'd at 39K miles, will this be covered if they have to replace the seats? HELP!
