1. More power. Don't get me wrong; I really like the current V8. It's very capable and it hasn't let me down yet, but what's wrong with a boost in power for the resdesign? This is a wish list after all 
2. 20 inch wheels and tires for more grip, so long as it doesn't sacrifice ride quality.
3. Adaptive cruise control that works better than today's incarnation.
4. The best OEM navigation system on the market.
5. A more accurate, up to the second trip computer.
6. A more powerful sound system with speed controlled volume. Bose might not be a bad way to go.
7. Get rid of that useless, tiny, flimsy plastic "compartment" under the HVAC controls, or make better use of that space. I was surprised to see something this cheap looking on a $35K plus vehicle.
8. Auto up/down windows throughout the cabin, or at least one for the front passenger.
9. A rear window you can close with the keyfob as well as opening it.
10. Changeable dash lighting colors like on the new Mustangs.
11. HVAC controls on the steering wheel. Doesn't Honda have them?

Toyota actually gave the 2006 4Runner a lot of great upgrades. Last year, I was hoping to see memory seats, bluetooth/voice navigation, and projector headlights on the 2006 4Runner. Now, to make a perfect truck even more perfect:
1. HID headlights- A Lincoln Navigator has these so I don't want to hear about the 4Runner being too high!
2. Opitron guages (Lexus guages)
3. A better sound system- I am not too impressed with the JBL system
4. Better interior lighting
5. Electrochromatic side mirrors
6. Power retracting side mirrors
7. Different trim for the extreme offroader- Make a standard rear locker, standard all terrain tires, standard lift kit

- Onboard/built in tire air compressor with on the fly tire pressure changes. No more having to wait at the gas station, getting outside the truck, or no need to fire up the compressor in my garage. Ability to air up or air down while still sitting in the driver's seat for off/on-road. One less thing for me to carry.
- Better tire pressure monitoring system integrated with the NAV or console. It'd be nice to see all 5 tires in a small graphic or diagram and have their respective pressures displayed. Be sweet to change / regulate pressure individually via prementioned onboard compressor (see above).
- Adjustable X-REAS that will accomodate lifts.
- More ground clearance.
- Built in spare tire lock. Release via within the cabin with key.
- Beefier/thicker skid plates that cover more area.
- Keyless entry remote and immobilizer chip integrated into the body of the actual key (I think Japanese Surfs have this). No need to have a separate key and separate remote fob. Kinda like Mercedes or BMW keys.
- More side bolster support/adjustment on front seats.
- Thicker paint (I've only had my runner for 3 months and I have chips on my front end already. Oh well such is life.)
- Speaking of paint...bring back Thunder Cloud Metallic color. Just the right shade of gray. Just in between Titanium and Galactic.
- REVO's as stock set instead of the H/T's.
- Built-in tool set (at the risk of getting too BMW-ish).
- TRD stickers instead of those stupid white stickers on the driver's window that read "This vehicle contains chemicals and substances that are known to cause all sorts of diseases, dumbening, etc."
- 40/50 MPG and a second fuel tank that switches to lemon juice. (Hey it's a wish list)
- Top mounted oil filter for the V8 (I don't have the V8 but people keep saying they have to remove the skid to get to their filter).
- Beefier 4WD control knob. For a nicely, well built vehicle, everytime I shift from 2H to 4H or 4L it feels like I'm turning on a toaster oven with that cheap plastic knob. At least make it out of anodized aluminum or something sturdier/cooler looking. I'm engaging my 4WD not baking pop tarts.
- Hitch ball standard (come on Toyota).
- Auto hatch closer for ALL the doors and hood, not just the rear hatch. I cringe evertime the mechanics just slam my hood down after an oil change.
- Valor exhaust tips standard. Too damn nice not to have on your rear pipe.
- Negatively charged clear coat so that dirt just repels off (except for mud, mud always looks good on a runner).
- Anti-theft wheel caps (don't know how, just wish they were)
- Side marker or integrated signal/sideview mirror lights standard.
- sliding "hold" switch on key transmitter. I've had countless times where my keys are in my pocket, I sit the wrong way and the buttons are accidently pressed by the adjacent keys. I'm then like, "Did I just hear my 4runner beep/unlock? Crap." (have to get up, walk back and check).
- maybe throw in some hybrid technology for highway driving.

All of the above ....plus, and I know it was already mentioned, but needs to be re-emphasized.
An off-road model with GROUND CLEARANCE, real skid plates that offer real protection, beefier tires or the ability to put beefier tires on, rock sliders, a switch to dis-able all traction control devices if needed.
And yes, thicker more durable paint, HID lights, all auto up/down windows with lighted switches, a little more headroom with a sunroof, more HP with better MPG, rear window up/down from the remote, more comfortable seating.
Wouldn't it be nice if Toyota actually listened to us???

My wish list:
Rename the "Sport Edition" to "TRD," like the Tacoma. Similarly, offer TRD-Offroad and TRD-Sport packages.
The former (TRD-Offroad) would be 4WD only; more ground clearance; tires more conducive to offroading; better skid plates; etc. Not sure about XREAS, since there was some debate on whether it helps or hinders those who lift.
The latter (TRD-Sport) would be 2WD; 18" wheels; hood scoop; XREAS; etc.
Other than that, I think the '06 is almost perfect.

how about factory maintenance for 4years 50k, an oil change light like the bimmers so I can change the oil every 15k, quality tires, dealerships who actually take into consideration that these are Toyotas not Bentleys or Rolls Royces when it needs service, or the techs/service writers who could treat the cars like they belong to someone who is paying for it and not scratch or damage it, it would also be nice if they performed routine maintenance on the vehicle and not dealer bs that is nothing for the customer and money for them.

Most of you guys should just go buy the Lexus with all the vanity items you want..... I want & hope this remains a good utilitarian & off road SUV , they are becoming few and far between. Hell I'd be happy if they brought back a floor 4x4 gear shift and manual locking hubs as an option.....lol

There is nothing wrong with having the fancy items on a Limited. If you don't want the fancy items, then buy the SR5.
I like the option of choice myself.
Not a damn thing wrong with the luxury of a limited at all. I think they are nice , but if you would add in some of the vanity items people are asking for you would be at the price of a Lexus. The reason Toyota does not add all the puff items is that it would then compete to close in $$$ to the Lexus.
