I just bought a new white 2008 Urban Runner today! I love it! It is super quiet and super nice. I just came from a Hummer H2 and wanted something that didnt rattle inside. Also wanted something that was quieter and easier on the wallet. I saw the Urban Runner and had to have it! I have never owned a toyota before and I l hope this truck holds up....doesn't start rattling inside, and is a good truck I can buy off the lease. Will I like it? Are these trucks good quality trucks? Will it start to fall apart after a few years on the inside?

Haha congrats! Well coming from a H2 I think anything would be better than that. You'll get better gas mileage and its a TOYOTA so it'll run forever. I think no rattling on the inside and unlike GM vehicles it will hold up 10x better!:)

Yea I leased it but I think I am going to buy it when it comes due....even if it may be 1500 dollars over what its worth at the time. Its such a nice truck! I just hope she holds together! I never offroad.....just ride down the road! That Blizzard white looks so good!

I love the new colors they came out with, the only thing for me is the TomTom. I personally dont need a navigation system so im fine with my 08 SE. By the time the lease ends up your gonna want to keep it forever.

Well I love it!! The Tom Tom can be a DUMB DUMB sometimes but it may be operator error! =) haha I am going to take my time and not pimp it out yet like everyone on here! They look great by the way! I am going to take a year and make sure the inside doesnt start rattling and i get upset. If that happens I will ride out the lease and get rid of it. If it holds together good then I will start to do some add ons! I will also be looking for some more power! =) Hopefully the thing will not fall apart inside!

I will put some up tomorrow! Its bone stock though. Its the same truck that is on showcase on the dudes link in the urban runner thread.

My '06 has over 50,000 miles and no rattles. Notice I dont even end that sentence with the work 'yet'. This is because I dont think it ever will have rattles I had become accustomed to with my previous GM or Dodge products. I'm sold.

Congrats! I've had my Urban Runner for about a month now, and can't say enough good things. It's a ridiculously smooth ride with lots of comfort inside. I love that the fabric stays cooler in the heat than leather would.

I used to drive a 1997 Toyota Camry - well, still drive, since that's what I'm driving now why my UR's audio system gets upgraded - and the Camry has 279,000 miles! That number alone has convinced me that the Toyota brand has staying power, so I made an easy decision to buy instead of lease the UR. That also meant I started modding it almost as soon as i had it! ha!

Good luck though, I think you'll continue to love your Toyota for years to come.

I also just picked up an urban runner (in black) last thursday. I'm totally enchanted by the vehicle-looks, drive, and comfort. My dealer was floored when the car came in aswell ("Why aren't we selling THAT more often?"). I came from a Honda Pilot, which was also great, but this feels much sturdier. The only issues I have are the dreaded gas pedal slight vibration, and the fact that the bluetooth is NOT compatible with my TREO. Any advice for either issue?

Hmm, I haven't noticed any vibration on my gas pedals - the times that I thought I did, I traced it back to my driver side woofer vibrating my leg. :p

As for the phone compatibility, have you checked TomTom's website? try: http://www.tomtom.com/support/product.php?ID=1678&Language=4&FID=3267

or:

http://www.tomtom.com/phones/compatibility/?intProduct=18

I see the Treo 650 is listed as compatible. I would also note that my phone, Motorola Razr VE maxx isn't listed as compatible, but worked fine for bluetooth calls.

People on the other end of the line found the quality so so - the microphone is located on the TomTom unit itself. Hardly ideal.

Well all this is great news. I have not felt the gas pedal vibration yet. I will not care if the lease residual is 2 grand over what it is worth....I will buy the thing if its as good as u guys say. I dont know if the toyota lease residuals are good or not but I kinda figured they will try to keep ya in a little red to get you to go get another one and bail out.

That sounds like the right call. Let us know how much you like it over the coming months.

Me, I'll be busy modding her like crazy until she's exactly like I want. :bigok:

oh and my dealership also said they have not seen an urban runner yet. I waited for mine. I saw it come off the truck. I think that black one you have is hott! I love my White a ton too! I have not seen a black one yet in real life. Just a white one which is mine! Its slick! Now I need some power mods that wont eat up the tranny!

what are you going to do to get more power out of it "safely" :bash:

Ah, power wise, I'm more than satisfied. I'm upgrading from a 4 cylinder Camry, for goodness sake! :biggrin2:

The mods I'm doing are exterior: HID S2000 retrofit, LED lights in the license plate and doors, and new tires.

For the interior: Kenwood DNX-8120 headunit, Hertz three-way components in the front, Hertz two way coaxials in the rear, a custom made sub box meant to be as slim as possible, a JL Audio 10w3 sub, and an Audison 5 channel amp.

That should hold me over for years to come!

I haven't seen a White one in person, but my sister has and she said it looked excellent. The salesperson who helped me noticed me pulling in based on the Urban Runner emblem and color alone.

These Urban Runners really are such slick trucks.

Yea they are slick as all! My dealership knows its me when I pull in. Its the only one in town! Is it a big pain in the butt to add Xenon headlights to it?

I didn't do the install myself - I paid a professional retrofitter to do it - he tells me the process isn't too difficult, but I'm sure it's above my ability.

Another member on this board had the same installer do his retrofit and seems very happy with the results. So I'm looking forward to it!

His name, by the way, is Caesar at www.lightwerkz.net
