2009 SR5 Steering Problem

I am new to this site but am hopeful someone would be able to assist me with a problem with my 2009 SR5 4-Runner.

The wheel on my 4-runner shakes tremendously when hitting a bump or crack at high-speeds (55mph+). I have taken this car to Toyota 3 times and have had the tires rotated, car balanced, and aligned however no improvement. I am starting to think this may be something else (shocks or supension?) however this is very concerning as the car only has 12,000 miles. It feels as if I have no control of the car for a split second. This is my 2nd 4-Runner, however I never experienced anything similar on the first.

Has anyone experienced similar problems? Any ideas what the problem may be?

Thank you in advance for your help.

How long does it stay shaking for? I can sort of see a bad strut as a possible cause. Also, check the steering rack bushings ( I would think Toyota would check that out but who knows). What tires are you running and what psi?

Thank you for the response, I have Michelin tires inflated at 34-36psi.

I am taking the car back to Toyota for a test drive with service manager. 4th time i've been back, let's hope they can solve this. I will have them check the struts and steering rack bushings.

Thanks,
